SANDBAR progeny have hit the ground running and continue to impress, with his best book of mares about to foal and some exciting youngsters still to come. A number of city winners have presented themselves including Shaggy, Dusty Bay, Sky Watcher, and Gazz, along with several horses progressing through their grades that are sure to measure up to stakes level at some point. His progeny earnings have ticked over the $1 Million barrier, while his oldest progeny are only lightly raced rising 4-year-olds, with expectations of much more success as several nice horses head into the Spring. His progeny have great attitudes and a willingness to please. They seem better on top of the ground and have been winning between 1000m and 2000m, with a sweet spot appearing to be around the 1200m to 1600m mark. A lovely, balanced, neat type Sandbar is likely to be a sire on the rise in the coming years.
THE BROTHERS WAR continues to punch well above his weight with Country Championship winner ASGARDA continuing her brilliant career by placing in the Gr 3 Wenona Girl and securing a Saturday city win in her second-last start of the 2025/26 season. Taking her earnings to over $1.1 Million, she has a big prep ahead as she returns to work for the 2026 spring. Telecom Fighters has continued to assert his authority with 11 wins to his name in Hong Kong and over A$3.5 Million in Prizemoney. Other stakes winners include Bandi's Boy and Ancestry with some exciting youngsters ready to improve on his record. THE BROTHERS WAR progeny now average over $126K per starter on the racetrack, with over 65% winners/runners, from his 86 runners he has had 56 winners who are closing in on their 200th win and over $11 Million in prize money. He really must be considered one of the most underrated and best value sires in the country.
FINANCE TYCOON is another exciting proposition that we are thrilled to offer breeders. A very precocious 2yo with fantastic, sustained speed. This saw FINANCE TYCOON win the Gr. 3 Maribyrnong Plate as a pre-Christmas 2yo. Other career highlights included winning the $950,000 VOBIS Showdown by 4.5L in the slick time of 1:08.91 over the 1200m. Wins in the Gold Nugget and the Gr. 3 Zeditave Stakes also added to a strong career for this sharp son of Written Tycoon. As Finance Tycoon progeny head into their 3yo season we are excited to see his rather small crops hit the racetrack. Early signs have been positive with his couple of juvenile starters and his rising 2yo crop—his first foals bred at Kooringal—will ensure some exciting times ahead in the 2026/27 racing season.
