Excitement continues to build at Kooringal Stud with the first crop of PRIZED ICON’S progeny going through the sales ring.
PRIZED ICON will have two fillies up for sale at the Magic Millions National Weanling and Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast, starting on May 20.
Lot 130’s dam Pisa (by CHARGE FORWARD) is a half-sister to the Listed winners JOHNNY REB and POWER OF PEGASUS.
JOHNNY REB won 14 races including the National Sprint at Canberra, while POWER OF PEGASUS claimed the Australia Day Cup at Randwick.
Pisa has produced the sprint winner Pisa My Heart.
PRIZED ICON’S other representative is Lot 192 (pictured), a daughter of FUSAICHI PEGASUS mare Squalls.
Squalls, who is already the dam of four winners, is the daughter of two-time Group 3 winner BLUE STORM (by BLUEBIRD) and her granddam GOLD HOPE won three Group 1 races.
PRIZED ICON also had a well-bred colt and an imposing filly in the catalogue at the Australian Weanling Sale at the Inglis Riverside complex in Sydney on Thursday (May 6).
The filly, who is the second foal of the nicely-related Epaulette mare Facepalm, fetched $18,000 for Redbank North, Harden.
Lot 26 was a son of GENERAL NEDIYM mare Aqueda but was withdrawn.
